The SEKF Squad were on top form again at the Central England International Open. After a great day, the squad managed 1 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.
Carla Rudkin-Guillen won her seventh gold medal this term by winning the -12 yrs female kata, this was followed by Finley Burn, winning a well deserved Silver medal in the -12 yrs male kata. After some great team performances from Carla, Adam Barnes and Ethan Stonton, they also claimed a Silver medal. In the pairs kata, Carla and Ethan performed four more great kata's and ended up with yet another Silver medal for the SEKF. After the kata categories the SEKF had won an outstanding 1 Gold and 3 Silver medals.
The kumite followed with Carla, securing her position as an all round athlete by claiming Silver in the -12yrs female kumite. Elliott Lowman, was back on form winning Bronze in the -14 yrs male. Finally, the SEKF kumite team consisting of Elliott, Carla and Adam won an impressive Bronze medal after some exciting fights.
The rest of the squad, Megan Barnes, Autumn Fry, Dylan Kidd, James Arnold, Nick Issacson, Harrison West and Lewis Grainger, all performed well but did not manage a medal on this occasion.Well done everyone and thanks to the parents for thier support.
