The SEKF squad, minus a couple of our elite British International title holders that were injured, recently competed at the Central England International Open. This was the last competition for the A' squad after a busy year.
The day started very well with young Ethan Stonton performing four great katas to win a well deserved bronze medal in the -12 yrs kata.
Harrison West and James Arnold both had difficult 1st round matches, losing to the eventual winner of their categories. Adam Barnes managed a couple of good rounds before also losing to the champion of his category.
We had high expectations for Elliott after his British International title last month. However, after a good fight he went out on Senshu.
Zak Smyth 16 years, competed in the senior kata for the first time which proved to be a challenging experience for him.
Next time guys!
Finally, the day finished well with Damla Kaya performing some lovely kata, winning a well deserved silver medal in the female cadet category.
Well done to everyone who competed and trained so hard for this competition and thanks to all the parents who helped out on the day. Team SEKF
