A few lucky SEKF squad members travelled to Madrid and were treated to five days of elite training with the World Team Kata Champion 'Fran Salazar'
The students arrived in Madrid on Sunday 31st July, excited and ready for training. However, it was mandatory for them to spend a few hours at the hotel pool, especially as the temperature was near 40c. We then went out for some great tapas and met up with Fran which was really appreciated by everyone.
The training over the next five days was fantastic, Fran explained everything in great detail and demonstrated with such precision it was a pleasure to watch. The students and I learnt lots of detail to improve our basic work in addition to learning new kata. All the students worked really hard as usual and were praised by Fran for their dedication and willingness to learn. Well done guys!
The squad members bonded really well and spent most of their time off training, playing manhunt in the pool which was great fun, I won most of the games though, followed by our very own sprint swimmer, Elliott. Great fun!
We also had a great day at one of Madrid's water parks and spent the evenings' sampling the fantastic cuisine that Madrid has to offer.
