The SEKF squad were on top form at the recent BIKO Championships. After some great performances throughout the day, the SEKF squad achieved Five gold medal champions, two silvers and four bronze medals.
The day started great with young Thomas Klemz taking gold in the under 10 years, brown belt and below category at his first outing for the SEKF. This success was quickly followed by our British silver medalist, Carla Rudkin-Guillen, winning the under 12 years, Alessio sebis winning the under 14 years and finally Zak Smyth winning the under 16's category. Four gold medals in Kata to start. However, in addition, Harrison West and Ethan Stonton managed well deserved bronze medals.
Carla and Ethan paired up to win a great silver medal in the under 16 years pairs kata as did Thomas Klemz and Finley Burn who paied up in the novice category to achieve silver also. 4 golds, 2 silvers 2 bronze just in the kata. Fantastic!
The kumite followed, and our other British silver medalist, Elliott Lowman, added another gold medal for the SEKF by winning the under 13 years. This was followed by James Arnold winning a well deserved bronze medal in the under 16 years and Harrison West claiming another bronze in the under 13 years.
I would like to thank all the squad members for working so hard in preperation for this event and the parents for their fantastic support.
