AMA Nationals 2009

On Saturday 20th June, I travelled up to Sheffield with the Elite and A’Squad members for the AMA National karate championships.

 

After a hard weekends competing, I am proud to announce that our club won four National titles, one silver and one bronze.

 

The Men’s team which consisted of Danny Rudkin, David Johnson and myself, Won the first National title and this was for the fifth time. This set the standard for the day, as I then went on to win the master’s category in style, taking the final with ease 9 – 0, to the enjoyment of the crowd. This was followed by Danny winning the -78 kilos category with similar ease, which gave confidence to David Johnson who then went on to win his category, 16/17 years.

 

      

 

James Smith our newest Elite squad member won a silver medal, whilst Kieron Parrot from the A’ Squad won a bronze. Well done!

The weekend was a great success and the support from the squad parents was well appreciated. Thanks.
