Tony Smith, England international

Tony started Karate at the age of 5, where he was taught by Steve Quinn & Ticky Donovan OBE. By the age of 11 Tony had achieved the coveted first Dan black belt and become national champion. He was selected to compete for England at the age of 16 and continued for ten years. During his career, Tony achieved 13 British titles and 9 English titles in both disciplines of kata and kumite. Internationally he was placed 4th at two world Championships and 5th at the European Championships.
A proud moment for Tony was when he competed in four different categories at a single world championship, Male -60kg kumite, team kumite, male kata and team kata. Tony managed 4th place in his two individual categories. Tony has also won many international gold medals in open competitions throughout his karate career.

Team SEKF would like to welcome Tony as a mentor and look forward to working with him to help develop our young athletes.
