James Arnold's success at the English Championships

Three of the SEKF elite squad hopefuls, Louis Naraine, the current Four Nations Kumite Champion, James Arnold, current WKU Kumite Champion and Zak Smyth, our kata representative, travelled to Leicester to compete in the English Karate Championships. Zak was first to compete in the cadet kata and managed to perform some great work, just losing out in the quarter finals. Louis was up next and fought well in the cadet kumite. However, it was obvious that his illness over the past month had taken its toll. James was last up and fought very well, claiming a well-deserved kumite bronze medal, just losing out for a place in the final by Hantei.

I was proud of all three athletes especially as I know how hard they have trained to compete with the best in England. Well done guys!
