Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update 19/03/2020

Further to the government announcement on Wednesday 18th March, I can confirm that all karate classes will be suspended after Friday 20th March until further notice.
Thursday’s classes will run as normal with the exception of the 5.30pm 6.30pm and the 6.30pm-7.30pm classes that normally run at New Milton Health & Leisure centre. They will now take place for this week only at Ashley Junior School, Normans way, Ashley. (Same Times)
Friday’s Classes will all run as usual.
Please do not attend any of the classes if you or a member of your family are feeling unwell, with a high temperature and dry cough or have tested positive for Corvid-19.
Over the next two days training, The SEKF team will continue to make sure that all the children wash their hands prior to and after training, avoid physical contact in the class and keep a safe two metre distance from each other whilst training to reduce risk.

SEKF Grading

Due to the exceptional circumstances we all find ourselves in owing to the Coronavirus outbreak, Danny and I have decided to dedicate next week to discuss each individual students’ progress over the past term who have handed in a grading form and give them a predicated pass grade. This grade will be either a 1, 2 or 3. Grade 1 would be 70% plus which is a double grade, Grade 2 is somewhere between 60-69% and Grade 3, between 50-59%. On this occasion we will not be able to give an exact percentage mark.
The students have worked very hard this term and it would be an injustice not to award them for their efforts. Hopefully this will lift their spirits during these uncertain times.

The results will be published on the News section of our website: www.sekf.co.uk by Monday 30th March. As usual the students who have passed will receive their new belts (tags) and certificate when we return.

If anyone did not manage to hand in a grading form and still wishes to do so, please contact me via email at [email protected] or on 07966 303 585

The Coronavirus situation is very fluid at present and the governments guidelines are changing on a day to day basis, therefore please check our website regularly for further information regarding karate.

We are currently preparing alternative arrangements to assist our students with some regular fitness and karate training during our absence from the sports centres and primary schools. We will update on this ASAP

Stay safe everyone, and we look forward to seeing you all soon
