On the last weekend of May we held our spring inter club karate competition which was our biggest to date with over 100 competitors taking part. Well done to everyone who competed and thanks to the parents who supported our competition.
The day started with some great Kata from Patchouli Phillips, James Miguel, Toby Jeffcock, Alessio Sebis, and Michael Backer-dirks who all won gold medals, and especially from Cameron Downer who managed to win the advanced category. Well done!
The Kumite followed after a short lunch break. The standard overall was very high with the students maintaining good control in their techniques, leaving our Medic, Dr Mark kydd- Coutts very little to do all day.
Well done to the kumite gold medal winners, Victor Williams who has now won the Advanced category twice in succession, Eve Moore who has won her category for the last few years, Zak Smyth, Allanah Smithson, Marshall Hannan-Bobe who has won his category many times previous, Chelsea Laurent, and Elliott Lowman.
A big thank you to the referees and the table officials along with our Medic Dr Mark Kydd-Coutts and Annette Fisher who all helped make the day a big success. Thanks!
