Chojinkai Open Medals

Last weekend the SEKF squad travelled to Cumbria to compete in the Chojinkai Junior Open. Unfortunately, due to illness and exams only three elite squad members were available to attend. However, this gave Danny and I the opportunity to concentrate on the less experienced squad members.

As we were staying in Cumbria for the weekend, I organised some great bonding time for the squad members and parents. We spent most of Saturday evening playing Family Fortunes which went down a treat.

On Sunday morning everyone was relaxed and ready to compete. The day started well with Ethan Stonton winning bronze in his kata section, followed by Elliott Lowman's good performance in his kumite section, also winning a well deserved bronze medal. Finally, Zak Smyth perfomed some great katas in the cadet category and managed a solid bronze. I am looking forward to seeing Zak compete at the English.

The rest of the squad members competed well and learnt lots from the experience.

Well done everyone!
